Niall Horan and Demi Lovato have been talking about how much they like each other for what seems like ages now, but the two singers haven't really interacted with each other—until now.

But unfortunately for those hoping that Niall and Demi will start dating, they didn't start a relationship over Twitter. Instead Demi decided to tweet to Niall about a monkey, and her tweet was also aimed at Liam Payne. Here's what she wrote:

"hey boys... did you know..... i can speaka to the munkey...... ?!"

Some Demi fans might be worried that the singer is losing her mind after such an odd message, but she was only responding to this message from Niall Horan to Liam Payne:

"i lika speaka to you about the goats and munkayss."

So it seems that Niall and Liam have started their own bizarre Twitter code which may or may not have something to do with the animal noises that One Direction make during their interviews. Or maybe he was referring the monkeys that ride goats in rodeos or the "goats and monkeys" expression from Othello. After all, the band has been talking about doing a movie based on another of William Shakespeare's plays, Romeo and Juliet. Whatever it means, Niall Horan saw Demi Lovato's tweet and responded by writing this:

"i knew you could speaka the munkays! We've corrupted you too! Haha"

So is Demi really in on this joke? If that's the case, then it could mean that she's already met Niall (and it also makes it sound like Niall was referencing something dirty). Some Directioners certainly seem to think that these tweets are meaningful because they're already telling Demi and Niall to get married.

So what do you think all of this monkey talk means, and should Demi and Niall start dating?
