The Teen Choice Awards 2012 have now been held and countless celebrities have walked away with full size surfboards as awards.
You wouldn't get that at the Brits would you?
This year, X Factor judge Demi Lovato and Glee star Kevin McHale hosted the proceedings, which as I'm sure you're aware, saw One Direction go home with three awards. Demi Lovato had an…inspired hair choice, but the oriental style did stand out from the crowd.
Did anyone else notice the lack of time she spent with ex-BFF Selena Gomez? Awkward.
Some new stars and old favourites were at the event, including "Dance Mom's" coach Abby Lee-Miller, Ellen DeGeneres, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Miranda Cosgrove. Big winners included Taylor Swift who took home an astounding five awards including choice female and choice female country artist.
Justin Bieber also scored at the event winning choice male artist, choice fashion icon and choice single by a male artist. Certainly an impressive pull by both superstars!
Other winners ranged from the "Hunger Games" winning back-to-back choice movie Sci-Fi/Fantasy and choice book. The book was first published in 2008, so it's a fantastic achievement for the franchise. Heart throbs Zac Efron, Taylor Lautner and Chris Hemsworth also took home surfboards at the event. Glee took home honours too, despite declining viewership throughout the latest season.
Love her or hate her, Carly Rae Jepsen was fairly awarded choice breakout star – no doubt for her highly frustrating, annoying and/or brilliant track "Call me Maybe".
She also looked good on the red carpet; sadly the same can't be said for everyone…
Fashion highs at the event included Demi Lovato's metallic armour like first dress; she glowed, evoked confidence and looked great on the red carpet. She definitely pulled focus. Selena Gomez dressed in a simple pink dress, which looked stunning and suited her well.
Some gents dressed casually – Darren Criss for example wore a T-shirt but still came across as 'dressed up'. I wasn't a fan of Rebecca Black's red tipped hair and Kevin McHale had a bizarre combination of army pants and a waiter-like button up shirt. Not sure what was going on there!
Overall there wasn't anything overly offensive worn and everyone looked like they were loving the heat of the American sun!
One Direction had a pre-recorded comical clip to accept their awards, Louis could really have a career in comedy acting! Justin Bieber rounded off the event with a high energy performance, which showcased his more mature sounding single "Boyfriend".
It was definitely another fantastic light hearted and fun event and its nice to see celebrities enjoying themselves in a playful setting!
