X CAP: 'X Factor' Top 8 Performances Recap | ClevverMusic

The top 8 performed on ‘X Factor’ USA last night and it was all about No. 1′s!

The theme for last night’s ‘X Factor’ episode was No. 1 songs and the Top 8 took the stage and took some risks in their performances. Here are the highlights.

The most talked about performance from the show was Team Demi Lovato’s Cece Frey who sang “Lady Marmalade” in a rosey hoop skirt surrounded by Victorian style dancers, but failed to impress the judges with her vocals. Not even the confetti rain could save her, as judge Simon Cowell commented, “I don’t think that is going to endear you to the public at home… My advice tonight is: Pack a suitcase.” We’ll find out if Simon was right, on tonight’s elimination show.

Over on Team Simon Cowell, boy trio Emblem 3 performed The Monkees’ “I’m A Believer” song, mixing their rap solos and mediocre vocals. But, the Huntington Beach boys failed to make all the judge’s believers. Britney and Demi did not like the song choice, while L.A. and Simon praised them.

Team L.A.’s Vino Alan tried to overcome a last minute song choice by his mentor who didn’t like how his previous song rehearsals had been going. Vino sang Hall & Oats ballad “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” and tried to put his rough soul touch on it. Demi and Britney didn’t like it and felt he should change it up, that it’s too much of the same thing from him. Simon also hated it while of course L.A. defended him.

Who do YOU guys think will go home tonight on the double elimination?! Leave us a comment below.
