After a week of great performances and another somewhat unexpected elimination, American Idol 2014 Top 7 week is finally over. The biggest news being, of course, that country singer Dexter Roberts is headed home, much to the dismay of his fans. He’ll rest up for a while and visit with friends and family before heading out this summer on the American Idol Live Tour.
There was a lot going on this week besides another elimination however, including a never-before-done song theme, and surprise guest appearances from Kevin Bacon and Demi Lovato. We also had a very brief but entertaining duet between Ryan Seacrest and Caleb Johnson on the Top 7 performances show. And that was all really just the tip of the iceberg.
