A lot of child stars have had their troubles as they become young adults, but the kids who come up through Disney are scrutinized even more for their not-so-wholesome moments, like Miley Cyrus' trashy wardrobe and alleged drug use, Demi Lovato's battles with bulimia and drug abuse, Vanessa Hudgens' naked pictures, and Shia Labeouf and Mitchel Musso's DUIs.
And of course there are the older Disney stars like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, who weren't exactly role models as young adults.
However, Gary Marsh, the president of Disney Channels Worldwide tells the "Hollywood Reporter" that while they try to steer their stars in the right direction they aren't responsible for parenting them.
He says, "We're really clear on where our role begins and ends. We have things like a one-day seminar called Talent 101, where we bring in security experts, psychologists, showrunners and life coaches. It's usually after the pilot but before the series launches."
But ultimately, it's up to their parents. He says, "We give them all of the tools they might need, but the network is not responsible for raising their children."
